The War at Warwick was a complete success. Our largest event to date with three faction commanders present. The event started Friday evening with the arrival of Konug Michael Rogers and his Vikings. Then the Viking and Celtic living history encampments were set up. That evenings meal consisting of leg of lamb and potatoes was cooked over an open fire. The traditional Viking board game Hefnatel was played late into the night.

Viking Tent

The following morning Commander Peter Scumaci arrived. Preparations were then made for the afternoon war. Konug Michael Rogers trained his Vikings in the use of a shield wall using all of the classic methods including kicking at the wall with all his might. The war saw the members of Na Geana Fiadhaine engage the Wargs of Woden and members of the Cruce Signati. All of the new members who have not battled in large numbers performed admirably.

The Battle

After three encounters Na Geana Fiadhaine was declared victorious. The remainder of the afternoon saw minor skirmishes and additional fighter training. Demonstrations of shield boss making were conducted at the Celtic Encampment by Nik DiNardo and James Flandreau. That evening the grand feast of roasted fowl, tubers, breads, cheeses and fresh harvested produce was held, and all consumed their fill.
